Quotation maker

Prepare a professional quotation with your business details, client information, quote number, issue date, and valid-until date. Add line items with quantity and unit price, then optionally apply a percent or fixed discount before a tax rate you type yourself (nothing is built in). Totals use integer minor units with a visible breakdown. Export a PDF from the on-screen preview so Arabic, Urdu, Hindi, and Vietnamese keep page fonts and RTL layout. Nothing is sent to a server or stored in this browser.

How to use the quotation maker

  1. Enter business and client details, quote number, issue date, and valid-until date (must be after the issue date).
  2. Add line items with description, quantity, and unit price. Sample values load so you see totals immediately.
  3. Optionally choose a percent or fixed discount, and type a tax percent if needed. Leave tax at 0 to omit the tax line.
  4. Edit notes, terms, and the short 'this is not a contract' line. Pick a template and currency.
  5. Review the live preview (RTL locales flip automatically), then Download PDF or Print. Reset clears the form. Nothing is saved.

Formula and method

Each line subtotal is quantity × unit price, rounded to the currency’s minor units (for example cents).

Optional document discount applies to the sum of line subtotals first (percent or fixed amount).

Taxable amount = subtotal − discount. Tax = taxable × (tax percent ÷ 100), rounded to minor units. Grand total = taxable + tax.

Valid-until must be a calendar day strictly after the issue date.

PDF export rasterizes the HTML preview with html2canvas so complex scripts use the same fonts as the page.

sub=Σ(qty·price); tax=(sub−disc)·t%; total=sub−disc+tax

Worked example

Two units at 150 give a subtotal of 300 in your chosen currency.

A 10% discount removes 30, leaving a taxable amount of 270.

A 5% tax on 270 adds 13.50, so the grand total is 283.50.

Set valid-until to a day after the issue date before you share the PDF. Switch the UI locale to Arabic or Urdu to check RTL layout in the preview.

Frequently asked questions

Is my quotation stored anywhere?

No. Unlike some draft tools, this quotation maker does not write to localStorage or a server. Only the PDF or printout you create stays with you.

Will Arabic, Urdu, Hindi, or Vietnamese look correct in the PDF?

Yes for typical cases. The PDF is built from the on-screen preview, so browser shaping and page fonts (including RTL) carry through.

Where does the tax rate come from?

Only from the percent you type. The tool never applies a built-in tax rate for any country.

How is the discount applied?

Discount (percent or fixed) reduces the subtotal before tax. Tax is calculated on the amount after discount.

Is a quotation a contract?

No. The editable disclaimer states that the document is not a contract. Confirm terms with the parties involved; this tool is not legal advice.

Why must valid-until be after the issue date?

A quote that expires on or before the day it is issued is usually a mistake. The tool blocks that combination so the dates stay coherent.
