Estimate progressive income tax for supported countries using published configuration files. Until a country’s brackets are human-verified against the official source, the tool shows “data pending verification” and keeps calculations disabled rather than guessing rates.
Taxable income = max(0, gross − verified deductions − extra deduction).
Progressive tax applies each marginal rate only to income inside that bracket.
Country files must include taxYear, currency, brackets, deductions, sourceUrl, and lastVerified. Unverified files keep empty brackets until reviewed.
tax = Σ (taxable_in_band × rate_band); effective = tax ÷ gross
Using sample test brackets only (not a real country): 0% to 10k, 10% to 40k, 20% to 80k, 30% above.
Taxable income 50,000 → 0 + 3,000 + 2,000 = 5,000 tax.
Real country results appear only after brackets are verified in src/lib/tax.
Until brackets are verified against the linked official source, calculations stay disabled for that country. We do not fill in unverified tax slabs.
Only countries with human-verified tax brackets appear in the selector. Unverified configs stay hidden and never produce a result.
