Unit converter

Convert everyday measurements in your browser: length, mass, temperature, area, volume, speed, and time. Factors use exact SI and international definitions (for example 1 inch = 25.4 mm, 1 pound = 0.45359237 kg). Temperature uses formulas. Choose display precision, swap units, and try common presets such as centimetres to feet and inches.

How to use the unit converter

  1. Pick a category tab (length, weight, temperature, and so on).
  2. Choose the from and to units, or tap Swap to reverse them.
  3. Enter a value. The result updates as you type.
  4. Set how many decimal places to show with the precision control.
  5. Use a common conversion preset, then Reset or Copy result when finished.

Formula & method

For linear units, the tool converts through a category base: value_to = value_from × (factor_from ÷ factor_to).

Length uses the metre; mass the kilogram; area m²; volume m³; speed m/s; time the second.

Inch is exactly 0.0254 m and the international pound is exactly 0.45359237 kg.

Temperature converts through kelvin: K = C + 273.15, and K = (F − 32) × 5/9 + 273.15.

Internal math keeps full precision; only the displayed number is rounded to your precision setting.

to = from × (f_from / f_to); temp via K

Worked example

Convert 100 cm to inches: 100 × (0.01 / 0.0254) ≈ 39.3701 in at four decimal places.

Convert 70 kg to pounds: 70 × (1 / 0.45359237) ≈ 154.3236 lb.

Convert 20°C to Fahrenheit: (20 × 9/5) + 32 = 68°F.

A 175 cm height as feet and inches is 5 ft plus about 8.90 in.

Frequently asked questions

Are the conversion factors exact?

Yes for the shipped units. International inch and pound values match the SI definitions used in science and trade. Temperature uses the standard Celsius/Fahrenheit/kelvin relationships.

Why are marla, kanal, or bigha missing?

Those land units vary by region. This site only ships units with verified definitions. Regional area units stay out until each one has a documented source and verification date.

Can temperature go below absolute zero?

No. Values that would fall below 0 K are rejected with an inline message.

Do US gallons and cups use US customary sizes?

Yes. Fluid ounce, cup, pint, quart, and gallon follow the US customary definitions, not imperial UK volumes.

Is my data uploaded?

No. Every conversion runs in your browser.

What does the precision control change?

Only the rounded number you see and copy. The underlying conversion keeps full floating precision.
